Brad Bates
MUSIC DIRECTOR

Brad was only five years old when his interest in music and playing instruments was sparked after being introduced to a Zither Autoharp. He continued the adventure by taking lessons over the years with various professional church organists and pianists, exploring several cathedrals in Europe with a church group, and then, at the mere age of twelve, taking on the role of the organist at First Congregational Church in Middleboro. Along with performing with different bands over the years, Brad has also been a substitute organist for several local churches. In 2010, he was hired as the Music Director at Lakeville United Church of Christ. When NCC and LUCC began to share a pastor in 2022, Brad jumped on the covenantal journey and has filled the role of Music Director at The Little Yellow Church as well. Along with preparing the hymns for the Sunday services with both a prelude and postlude, Brad also directs the church choir. He finds great joy in participating in the worship services, especially after working on hymns with the choir and then on the days those hymns are shared with the congregations.
